If a selection meeting was held now, and all pro riders met criteria, Healy would be a strong contender if only one slot.

Big wins last weekend for Ben Healy in Italy and in France for Rory Townsend, who looked in total control and very relaxed on gcn coverage, and a large haul of points moved both significantly higher on world rankings and Ireland into 21st spot on Olympic Ranking only one off gaining a second rider slot in Paris. If a selection meeting was held now, and all pro riders met criteria, Healy would be a strong contender if only one slot. But maybe if 2 slots gained then a combination of Sam Bennett and Ryan Mullen could be the preferred choice. Any aspiring selectors out there?

Transitions matter. And not just in Elite international racing. The time difference in transition in their head to head counting races was 27 seconds and Cory Fines beat Loughlin Campion by less than 3 seconds overall for the National Series Title.

How did my selections and the Irish team go in Paris? Thankfully all events went ahead, even if not quite to schedule, and in the end it was the current, not the weather, that had the greatest impact.
